Like many of you, summer is my favorite time of the year. I love to make my own schedule, read for pleasure, and get in some PD time. But, all good things must come to an end. School will be starting back up soon! I want to take this time and encourage you to remember that TASL is here for you! We want to help you make our school libraries the best. I encourage you to make sure your membership is up-to-date and that you are registered for our annual conference. Jennifer Sharp and our team are hard at work to make sure we have a great conference. One of the most popular topics will be the new AASL standards. And we want to encourage you to get involved; if you would like to get involved with TASL this school year, please let me know.
I also want to encourage you to start out the school year on a positive note. Make sure you reach out to faculty and ask them for ways to collaborate. Reach out to the new faculty in your building and introduce yourself. Let them know you are there to help them. Talk with your administration about any goals they have for you and share goals that you have with them. Remember, positivity is key!
In the coming weeks, I will be sending out an email to all superintends in the state. I hope that this will allow us to have a positive start across the state. I want to share with them how great our librarians are.
Remember, like us and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram @TASLTN
Tennessee students are so lucky to have each and every one of you in our schools. I hope that everyone has a fantastic school year! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!
Important Dates for Conference:
